Ecommerce · Inbox-side monitoring

Know when your order confirmations stop landing

When a Klaviyo or Shopify flow silently drops, customers start accusing you of scamming. Order confirmations, payment receipts and shipping notifications are the sends buyers notice most when they're missing. Reports won't tell you until days later. Telltide watches the flow from the inbox and alerts you the moment it goes quiet.

Every paid plan includes the Telltide Card, the status light for your customer email journeys.

The problem

The flow goes silent, and you're the last to know

A broken trigger, an edited flow, or a dropped integration doesn't show up as an error in Klaviyo or Shopify. It just means the send stops. Revenue keeps moving, parcels keep shipping, and customers assume the worst.

1

Order and payment confirmation flow drops

A flow edit, template break, or trigger misconfiguration silently kills the send. Missing receipts trigger "is this a scam?" emails and chargebacks. Often split across Shopify or WooCommerce (confirmation) and Klaviyo (thank-you flow), so each can break independently.

2

Shipping and tracking flow goes dark

Tracking is often sent from a separate system. If the integration breaks, orders ship but customers never get the email, and they assume the parcel is lost.

3

Welcome, abandoned cart and weekly flows stall

Recoverable revenue and list warm-up disappear silently when a Klaviyo flow stops. Reports look fine because they report what did send, not what didn't.

How it works

Continuous monitoring for your ecommerce flows

1

Add a Telltide seed to your Klaviyo audience

Drop the seed into the normal send path for each flow you want to monitor (welcome audience, order-confirmation flow, shipping notifications, abandoned cart). It gets treated exactly like a real customer and receives every send the flow does. The same approach works in Shopify email, Mailchimp, Omnisend, and WordPress or WooCommerce transactional mail.

2

Set a window that matches your normal send cadence

Tell Telltide the longest gap you'd expect between sends when the flow is healthy. A store doing daily orders might set "at least one order confirmation every 24 hours". A higher-volume store might tighten that to "at least one every 6 hours". A welcome flow might sit at "at least one a week".

3

Get alerted when the window lapses

If the window closes with no qualifying email arriving at the seed, Telltide fires an overdue alert. That's your signal to go check whether the flow broke. No more finding out weeks later from a report, or from a customer calling you a scammer.

Telltide is best at catching a flow that has gone silent or materially stalled. It watches the flow as a whole, not individual orders or per-customer triggers, so if a flow partially breaks (for example, confirmations still land for most customers but not for a specific payment method) Telltide will stay quiet as long as the seed keeps receiving at least one email in the window. Think of it as a heartbeat for the flow, not an audit of every email.

Example

A silent flow break, caught on day one

A Shopify operator using Klaviyo for order confirmations edits her thank-you flow. A misconfigured trigger means new orders stop generating confirmations, but the flow still looks active in Klaviyo's report. Orders keep shipping. For 48 hours, not one customer receives a receipt.

The third email she gets asking whether the store is a scam is how she finds out.

With a Telltide seed in the flow and a "one order confirmation per 24 hours" window, the overdue alert would have fired inside the first day, before any customer noticed.

Why reports aren't enough

Reports count what did send. They're silent about what didn't.

Klaviyo and Shopify reports are retrospective and aggregate. They show what did send. They're silent about what didn't, so a dead flow looks like a quiet day. Telltide watches from the inbox, so a flow that's stopped sending is visible the moment it breaches its expected cadence.
